Metal Separation MOT at WASTE 18

A Free Review of Magnetic Separators and Eddy Current Separators

At this week’s WASTE’18 Expo (Thursday, 5th July 2018, Warwickshire Event Centre, Leamington Spa, UK), on stand A Bunting Magnetics and Master Magnets are offering a free Metal Separation MOT.

The Metal Separation MOT involves a site visit to review the positioning, set-up, strength, and separation performance of Magnetic Separators and Eddy Current Separators.

Over time, it is not unusual to find that the positioning and set-up of metal separation equipment has been changed.  This may have occurred during a maintenance period or during a break down, or there could have been a change in the plant layout.  Assessing the installation as an external auditor enables a review with a fresh pair of eyes.  At the end of the MOT, a report is prepared and submitted and this can form part of a company’s quality management.

For further information, please see us on stand A at the WASTE’18 expo.

At the show, Bunting and Master Magnets will be exhibiting and demonstrating the Stainless Steel Magnetic Separator and the Mastermag Eddy Current Separator.

Separating Stainless Steel

The successful recovery or extraction of stainless steel from mixed non-ferrous metals (eg WEEE) or non-metallic materials (eg plastic waste) has been an issue for many recycling companies.  The Stainless Steel Magnetic Separator has been designed with an ultra strong magnetic circuit to attract and deflect the weakly magnetic metal.  Stainless Steel becomes weakly magnetic, usually on the edges, when passing through a shredder or granulator.  Demonstrations on stand A at WASTE’18 will show stainless steel being separated.

Maximising the recovery of non-ferrous metals, such as aluminium and copper, increases financial return whilst also reduces the amount of material passing to landfill.  On the stand, there will be demonstrations to show how effective the Mastermag Eddy Current Separator is in the high yield and high purity separation of small and large non-ferrous metals.

With the global focus on waste management and recycling, especially with regards to plastic waste, this year’s WASTE’18 is expected to be busier than ever.

Hillhead Attracts Bunting Europe

Bunting Europe Exhibit at Hillhead for the First Time

Magnetic Separators and Metal Detectors for the quarrying, mining and recycling industry will be on show on stand C9 at this year’s Hillhead exhibition (Hillhead Quarry, Buxton, 26-28 June 2018).

The joint Bunting Europe and Master Magnets stand will feature Permanent Overband Magnets (self and manual clean designs) and two different types of Metal Detector (the TN77 and QTA).

“Hillhead has always been a really important exhibition for Master Magnets,” said Dave Hills, Bunting’s Head of Sales.  “The Master Magnets Overband Magnets and Metal Detection Ltd range of detectors are widely regarded as industry standards for both quarrying and recycling.”

Held in a limestone quarry in the heart of the Derbyshire countryside, Hillhead is the largest exhibition of its kind anywhere in the world. Continually adapting, it provides a spectacular and unique setting for exhibitors and visitors alike to do business amongst live working demonstrations and static displays.

Many quarries use the combination of a Permanent Overband Magnet and Metal Detector to protect processing equipment such as screens, crushers and conveyor belts.  The Overband Magnet removes any magnetic tramp metal leaving the Metal Detector to identify non-magnetic metal parts such as manganese steel digger teeth.

“The recycling of construction waste continues to grow in importance and features strongly at Hillhead,” said Dave.  “With equipment such as the Mastertrax Mobile Eddy Current Separator, we have practical solutions for removing ferrous and non-ferrous metals.”

May through to July is a very busy exhibition period for Bunting Europe and Master Magnets.  Hillhead is just over one month after the very successful IFAT waste and recycling show in Germany and is followed by the Waste ’18 exhibition (Warwickshire Exhibition Centre, 5 July) and CARS (NAEC Stoneleigh, 11-12 July).

“Exhibiting at these events is so important,” explained Dave.  “We meet both existing and potentially new clients and can also show them what our equipment can do.”

Bunting Magnetics Announced as WASTE’18 Headline Sponsors

Bunting and Master Magnets Joint Sponsorship of Waste, Recycling & Skip Trade Exhibition

The combined Magnetic Separation might of Bunting Magnetics and Master Magnets has signed up as the headline sponsors of WASTE’18 for the second year in succession.

WASTE’18 provides an ideal platform for companies involved in waste management, recycling, and the skip trade to meet and discuss developments in the sector.  The exhibition takes place on Thursday, 5th July 2018 at the Warwickshire Exhibition Centre, near Coventry.

Waste_17-0600a“We are really excited to announce our headline sponsorship,” said Dave Hills, Bunting’s Head of Sales.  “With the dynamic changes happening in the waste sector, exhibitions such as Waste are vitally important in bringing technology companies and waste processors together.”

WASTE’18 organiser, Andrew Gold, welcomes the news.  “Both companies are great supporters of the event, and it’s a bit like welcoming old friends into your own home.  Their world class products are always popular amongst visitors, and if last year’s stand is anything to go by they’ll be drawing large crowds on the day.”

MasterMagnets_ECS-0634The focus on the Bunting and Master Magnets stand will be on maximising metal separation.  This includes:

  • Eddy Current Separators for separating and recovering non-ferrous metals such as aluminium beverage cans from presorted refuse and fine non-ferrous metals from waste electronics;
  • Stainless Steel Separator for either recovering or removing stainless steel from non-magnetic materials such as in the recycling of plastics and waste electronics;
  • Overband Magnets to recover steel beverage cans from presorted refuse and re-bar from demolition waste on mobile crushers;

“Our group of companies [Bunting Magnetics Europe and Master Magnets] has never been busier manufacturing equipment for the waste and recycling sector.  Being seen at exhibitions such as WASTE’18 is really important as we can demonstrate what metal separation is possible.  We are really looking forward to the show,” explained Dave.
